Utsuvaara's Gielas is inspired by the ruggedly beautiful landscapes of the surrounding Lapland, and the buildings' formal language has an edgy, stonework-like edge. The ground floor apartments are clad in sturdy slate, while the upper floors are clad in coniferous wood.
The apartments in A wing face the majestic peak of Levi, while those in B wing look out over the slopes towards the southern fells.
Utsuvaara Gielas is an exceptional location, even by Lapland standards. The apartments are built with special care, respecting the surrounding nature.
A safe and intimate atmosphere is created in the courtyard. It is completed by a common fireplace where you can sit down at the end of a day of outdoor activities.
